History of OJSC “Giprotruboprovod”
OJSC “Giprotruboprovod” was formed in 1939. Its history is rich in significant events, inseparably concerned with the historical milestone of our country: participation in construction of g
asoline pipeline across the Ladozhskoye Ozero to the blockade Leningrad in the years of the Great Patriotic War, in restoration and reconstruction of the storage depots for oil and oil products during the earliest post-war years, in intensive construction of trunk oil pipelines in fifties, sixties and seventies, when the country was needed oil at any price.
During the ensuing years of the Great Patriotic War in Institute there was an active work on enhancement of efficiency of the design activity. For this period the first experience of the standard typical design was gained, which subsequently served as an important factor for strengthening and development of productive potential of Institute.
For the period of intensive development of oil industry (1960s – 1980s) based on designs, developed by the Institute, there were built the main oil pipelines and oil product pipelines of the USSR, including oil pipeline system from West Siberia, circular pipelines around Moscow for distribution of oil products and gas, “Druzhba” oil pipeline system and a lot of others. Merits of Institute for this period were marked with great State Award - rewarded with the
Order of the Red Banner of Labour in 1967 for the successful design engineering of the oil trunk pipelines “Druzhba” and large achievements in the field of engineering of the pipeline systems.
The principal new in the activity of Institute nowadays there is a vest with its functions of General contractor for performance of design and survey operations and providence of field supervision at the functioning objects and facilities under construction of OJSC “AK “Transneft”, and for the performance of scientific–research and research and development operations as well.
Priority direction of the Institute activity is the constant perfection of organization and management of processes of production so as the output production is to meet the requirements and expectations of the Clients (Consumers).
